Assessment

Pattern of Examination

From the academic year 2024–2025, the examination pattern will follow a revamped assessment structure focused on consistent performance, practical learning, and comprehensive evaluation.

Assessment Components

  • Periodic Tests: Two assessments conducted in July and November.
  • Notebook Submission: Regular evaluation based on homework, notes, and assignments.
  • Subject Enrichment Activities: Practical and activity-based learning such as lab work, projects, and oral skills.
  • Mid-Term and Final-Term Examinations: Two formal exams covering the syllabus comprehensively.

Marks Distribution

Each subject is evaluated out of 100 marks, split as follows:

  • 80 marks: Theory examination covering 100% syllabus.
  • 20 marks: Internal assessment (periodic tests, notebook, and enrichment activities).

Important Guidelines

  • No formal examinations are conducted up to Class IV; assessment is based on continuous observation and activities.
  • Students from Classes V to IX must secure a minimum of 40% marks in each subject to pass.
  • For Class XI, passing each subject in the Final Term Examination is mandatory for promotion to Class XII.
  • No subject changes are allowed in Class XI after 1st October.
  • Subjects must remain the same for Classes XI and XII; no subject changes are permitted in Class XII.
  • Students of Classes IX to XII must obtain at least 33% marks in each subject to pass.
  • For Classes XI and XII, students must pass both theory and practical exams separately where applicable.
